| Unnamed Supertramp - Breakfast In America (1979) Supertramp married smart British pop tendencies with progressive rock touches to become international superstars in the seventies. The band's two singer-songwriters, Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies, were distinct enough to keep things varied, with the music constantly shifting from involved instrumental passages to bright, poppy, high-harmony vocals. A band that is often forgotton completely, Sumpertramp, if remembered, are praised for the tedious, but huge-selling 'Crime Of The Century'. 'Breakfast In America' may be their most underrated production ever, and sounds completely different when compared to the chart topping release five years earlier. This record cuts away the pomp and keeps it comparatively simple with some memorable pop songs and lyrics; for example, in the title track a simple statement,_take a look at my girlfriend, she's the only one I've got_, or the ridiculously simple rhymes in 'The Logical Song', and the painful truth of 'Goodbye Stranger' and 'Take The Long Way Home', which are further irritatingly catchy songs.
